ALADDIN consortium meets in Braga for its third Annual Meeting
On 9–10 June 2026, the ALADDIN consortium gathered in Portugal for the project’s third in-person meeting, hosted by the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL).
The two-day event brought the project partners together from across Europe to review progress achieved over the past year and discuss upcoming activities as the project enters its final 18 months. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for researchers to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaborations, and align efforts towards ALADDIN’s goal of accelerating the discovery and validation of nanobodies.
The first day focused on scientific and technical developments across the project’s Work Packages (WPs). Participants shared updates on ongoing research activities and explored opportunities for further collaboration. The consortium also visited the INL’s facilities, where the local team led by Principal Investigator Alar Ainla presented their work and demonstrated the laboratory’s capabilities in microfluidics.
The second day was dedicated to communication, dissemination, exploitation, and project management activities. Partners reviewed completed milestones, discussed future plans, and coordinated the next steps required to maximise the project’s scientific and societal impact.
Beyond the formal programme, attendees had the opportunity to discover the rich cultural heritage of Braga through a guided city tour and visit the Bom Jesus do Monte at sunset. The meeting concluded with a visit to Porto.
The ALADDIN consortium would like to thank the INL for hosting and organising the successful meeting. As the project moves into its next phase, partners remain committed to advancing innovative approaches that will help transform nanobody discovery and development.
